They used a very narrow (1/4 or 1/8) pinstripe tape to define the line, then overlaid with wider tape. After apply ing the sealant the tech used a special plastic tool with rounded end to create the smooth, concave bead. There is one small imperfection where he had to stop to walk around to the other side of the car. He said I could smooth it out a bit by abraiding it with my finger after it dried. I haven't tried yet, as it looks pretty good the way it is.
